Από καιρό σε καιρό προσπαθώ να
βρω στο ιντερνετ καινούργιες ψυχεδελικές
μπάντες που να έχουν να μου πουν κάτι. Το ψάξιμο παίρνει όπως καταλαβαίνεται
ώρες πολλές. Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά έπεσα πάνω σε αυτό το one man γκρουπ το οποίο είναι από
την γειτονιά μας. Τo Νοβι Σαντ της Σερβίας!!! Ιθύνον
νους ο Nenad Djordjevic. Μπράβο στο παλικαρι. Εννεα
κομμάτια βρηκα και σας ανεβάζω και τα εννεα. Πανεμορφη εκτελεση στο επισης πανεμορφο κομματι των The Sky Drops το Togethering. Ακούστε τον αξίζει ειλικρινα τον κόπο.

for me
Following
settlement of The Balkans during the 600s AD, a Serbian Empire persisted
throughout the Middle Ages… but then, you know how it goes, some fucker from
some place kills some fucker from some other place, and then some place wages
war on some other place and the whole world starts shooting their guns and
dropping their bombs in response… and the sadness of history permeates the
future of land and life, and music.
HIGH & DRYs - Togethering
Perhaps
pulling from the more wanton and wistful tendrils of a richly colorful and
deeply embedded cultural history, there’s a Serbian band featured on DHR who
call themselves the HIGH & DRYs.
Their music is psychedelic and they describe it as an “Indie lo-fi homegrown
sonic contribution to the global village revolution.”
Contrary
to popular misconception, the psychedelic counter culture movement of the
late-60s was not a dance shared between the U.S.
and the U.K.
The consciousness, vibe, energy, artistic expression, and hope which energized
that generation traveled the globe. There were psychedelic movements
everywhere, leaving behind an endless legacy of fantastic music; from Venezuela
to Nigeria, Turkey to Indonesia, Japan to Australia, Italy to Mexico, Greece to
Israel… nearly everywhere, because nearly everyone was plugged in.
Today,
there’s a renewed psychedelic counterculture music movement taking place in the
United States;
and the HIGH & DRYs
are plugged in more than most of us. What’s more, the whole movement is
predominately underground; as in unnourished by the corporate money house, and
therefore unknown by the general population, let alone the overseas market.
Yet, this way groovin’ band from Serbia knows. In fact, they’re so
in tune and making such lovely music alongside the best of ‘em, that we’d like
to officially deem the HIGH &
DRYs an honorary addition to the Los
Angeles, west coast, and greater U.S. underground music scene. But
their magic comes to us through the “global village,” within which we’re all
brethren, and we’re grateful for at least that.
