Vashti Bunyan - Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind - Singles and Demos 1964 to 1967



Η αναζήτηση ανερχόμενων αστέρων πριν 40 σχεδόν χρόνια έφερε για λίγο καιρό στο προσκήνιο την Αγγλιδούλα Vashti Bunyan, την οποία ανακάλυψε ο Andrew Loog Oldham (ο γνωστός παραγωγός των Rolling Stones) ο οποίος μεσολάβησε να της γράψουν οι Stones και ένα τραγουδάκι. Προσπάθησε να την μπάσει στην folk κυκλοφορώντας 2 σινγκλ και ένα δίσκο χωρίς όμως ιδιαίτερη επιτυχία, γεγονός που απέτρεψε την νεαρή τραγουδίστρια να συνεχίσει την καριέρα της.
Στο διπλό αυτό cd έβαλαν τα δύο 45αρια της Decca και της Columbia μαζί με ότι άλλο είχε φυλαχτεί στα χρονοντούλαπα των εταιρειών ap;o δεμοσ. Προσωπικά θεωρώ ως καλύτερο κομμάτι της το Love Song, το οποίο είναι πράγματι πανέμορφο. Από κει και πέρα δεν με «συγκίνησε» κάτι άλλο. Σύμφωνα με όσα διάβασα τα τελευταία χρόνια απέκτησε κάποια φήμη, ηχογραφώντας και νέο δίσκο.

Many many thanks for the lovely Vashti, I bought her 1970 album when it was reissued, great to have all the early stuff and more!
Just a detail: those last 4 bonus tracks on CD 1 are not here, obviously this is not the limited edition, no worries though, there's more than enough!
Also on the first track on CD 2 you can clearly hear Vashti saying the title "Autumn TEARS" and not leaves as listed...
