H συλλογή Endless Journey ήταν η απαρχή της αναζήτησης μου για τους Flat Earth Society. Το καταπληκτικό Feelin' Much Better που ήταν στην συλλογή, με ώθησε να αναζητήσω τότε το γκρουπ. Σε μία περίοδο που στην πατρίδα μας είχαν ξεκινήσει να έρχονται ανατυπώσεις κάθε είδος από ψυχεδελικούς δίσκους, κατάφερα να βρω μία κόπια με label από την Psycho Records (Psycho 17).
Πρόκειται κατά την άποψή μου για ένα πανέμορφο δημιούργημα από πέντε πιτσιρικάδες (από το Lynn της Βοστώνης) που τουλάχιστον στο δίσκο από την φωτογραφία δεν δείχνουν να είναι πραγματικά πάνω από 15 ετών. Αδυνατώ να βρω κομμάτι που να υστερεί στο Lp, θα ξεχωρίσω όμως το Four & Twenty Miles (δεν θυμάμαι η χίπικη αυτή έκφραση να έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί από άλλο γκρουπ) και βέβαια το Feelin' Much Better.
A young group from the Boston area -- in fact, none of the members looked to be older than 15 -- Flat Earth Society recorded a rare album in 1968 that became a prime collectible two or three decades later. This was probably based more on its rarity than the actual music, as the record was marketed by Waleeco candy bars -- you could mail-order the album with half a dozen candy wrappers and $1.50. Those consumers that took advantage of the offer were rewarded with competent, but somewhat generic, psychedelic rock, with the prominent electric keyboards that were characteristic of much of the Boston sound.
